Anyone having problems with the LCD on the devbugger board? I'm using the default PIC16F877 and I've tried multiple sample codes for the LCD and I can't get anything to show up.

Did you switch up the jumpers right above the microcontroller? Make sure they're both (JP8 and JP9) connecting the top 2 pins
They're both on the top 2 pins.

Use PICusb to check that your board is actually connected properly to the computer. Even if the board turns on, sometimes the code doesn't download.
PICusb says that its connected and it says download successful. Can someone upload a HEX file that they've tested and know for sure produces a display on the LCD?

Try creating a new file and compiling it, that's how I got mine to work
I can upload the Main.HEX code that comes with it, but that's it
EDIT: Sorry, both upload and write successfully, but the Main code is the only one that displays

Does it work if you upload code using PICusb?
That's good. When you download code using MPLAB X, is PICusb open or closed? Cuz it needs to be closed. Prof. Emami was telling me smtg like you can't use both at the same time

So I have to close PICusb when I'm using MPLAB X, and vice versa?

Well it seems that you can download code using PICusb even when MPLAB X is open, but it doesn't work the other way.
