for those who will be using microcontroller board (instead of building one by yourselves), how are you guys going to power it? Use the power adapter and connect it to a second power outlet?

I used the vcc and gnd pins on the data bus

 All the peripherals run off that just fine?

 

uhh, vcc will do? Cause on the manual it says vcc is not intended to power the microcontroller. And there's no guarantee it will work stably

just take the AC adapter they give you, cut off the the actual adapter part, and connect the wires to your power supply. it runs off 12V

^disclaimer: haven't actually done that yet, but that's what we plan to do

 ^please tell me when you actually do that and it works XD
